THE ULTIMATE STRESS MANAGEMENT GUIDE

Kickboxing Fitness App's Guide To Manage Stress

Stressed out? We get it.

Life can get hectic. So, here’s our ultimate stress management guide to help you chill out and de-stress, so you can focus on enjoying life.

Try Journaling

While journaling might not be for everyone, it’s an excellent place to start when you’re totally overwhelmed.

When you write things down (and refer back to it later), you’ll start to notice patterns and causes of your stress that you might not have seen otherwise.

Keep it simple by starting a journal to write down your mood, what you ate, any health-related symptoms, and the activities you got up to that day. After a month or two, you can look back and make some connections.

Perhaps you’ll start to see that you’re the most stressed before big meetings at work or after hard conversations with your spouse.

When you better understand your stress causes, you can take actual steps toward resolving them, perhaps through meeting prep strategies or working on marital communication.

Set Boundaries

When we feel overly stressed, it’s possible that we’ve let our boundaries slip.

We say yes to planning our coworker’s bachelor party when we’re already struggling to manage our kids’ extracurriculars. We answer work emails on Saturday afternoon when we should be napping on the beach. We pack our evenings with social events when we really just need a break after a long day.

Setting clear and reasonable boundaries can be a huge stress relief. Learn to say no when you need to and explain to your coworkers, friends, and family what you can and can’t commit to. Protect your free time (and your sanity!) and watch the stress melt away.

Sleep Hygiene

For some reason, our society has clung to the trope, “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” Well, you might just be digging your own grave if you skip out on proper sleep for an extended period of time.

We all need 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep every night to function well and reduce stress. It’s when our bodies repair themselves and work out any problems and issues that our conscious minds just don’t have the bandwidth for.

Tips for Improving Sleep:

  • Keep your bedroom cool
  • Make your bedroom as dark as possible at night
  • Have a nighttime routine
  • No screens in the bedroom
  • Exercise during the day
  • Proper nutrition

    Social Media Detox

Let’s face it -- we’re all hopelessly addicted to social media. It’s built to be addictive! So, we have to be even more diligent about detoxing from our screens now and then.

Not only is social media content often stressful - full of political arguments and outrage-inducing information, but constantly comparing our lives to others can be totally debilitating.

Give yourself a break from social media once a week, and see how it changes your outlook on life.

    Hit Something!

At times, there’s nothing more to be done about our stress, and we just need to hit something! But don’t put a hole in your wall! What we mean is, try kickboxing workouts.

There’s a reason why kickboxing can make you feel ten times better than before you started. Healthily releasing all that tension and aggression can mean making better, calmer decisions in your everyday life.

Plus, exercise is stress-relief on its own. So, it makes sense that kickboxing workouts would be the ultimate stress-blaster.
