Workouts Overview

Tapping on the Workouts tab will display this week’s workouts.  You must complete week one’s workouts to unlock week two, and so on.  

As you progress through your OOMPH workouts you will earn different coloured belts, as you work towards earning your black belt.  

 

Workouts Home Page

Tap the lightning bolt icon at the top left of the workouts home page to access the techniques section.  Our trainers provide detailed technique training, covering Punches, Kicks, Elbows, Movement and Knees.   

 

Your current belt is displayed at the top left of the workouts home page.  This color will change as you earn different colored belts.  

 

Tap the play icon within the Week heading to play this week’s trainer tips.

 

Tap the profile icon at the top right to access and update your user profile and settings.  Also, access the OOMPH Help and Support pages here.

The number of calories at the to right of the workouts home page displays the estimated number of calories that you’ve burned during this current week.

 

Launching a Workout

To launch a workout, tap on the workout that you would like to complete.  The system will prompt you to download the workout.  Once downloaded, tap start.

By default, the workout will consist of ten 3-minute rounds.  To adjust the number of rounds, prior to tapping start, swipe the round selector at the bottom of the screen.  You can select between 5 to 15 rounds.

 

Tap the gear icon to adjust your workout settings, including workout intensity, trainer audio and timer sounds.   

  • The workout intensity can be set to either light, moderate or advanced.  A light workout intensity will provide 120 seconds of exercise time and 60 seconds of rest period during each 3 minutes round.  A moderate workout intensity will provide 140 seconds of exercise time and 40 seconds of rest period during each 3 minutes round.  And an advanced workout intensity will provide 160 seconds of exercise time and 20 seconds of rest period during each 3 minutes round.  

 

  • The trainer audio provides trainer audio instruction during each workout session.  Tap the trainer audio field to turn trainer audio on or off.

 

  • The timer sounds feature provides sound cues to indicate the start, and end of workout sessions as well as 10 seconds to go alerts.  Tap the timer sounds field to turn timer sounds on or off.

 

 

Tap the music icon to select music that you would like to play during your workout.  OOMPH Beats is a selection of music from OOMPH’s playlist (an active Apple Music subscription is required).   MY MUSIC allows you to access any music that is available within your Apple Music application.  You can also listen to music in the background from other apps while working out with OOMPH.

 

Completing a Workout

At the top left of your workout screen, the time remaining in your workout is counted down here.

 

 At the top right of your workout screen, the number of rounds that you have completed and the total number of rounds in your workout is displayed.

 

At the top of your workout screen, the estimated number of calories burned are displayed as well as the estimated percentage of your maximum heart rate that you are working out at.

The smart watch icon will appear when the OOMPH app is receiving your heart rate data from the Health app (in order for OOMPH to pull your actual heart rate from your Health app, you will need to allow the OOMPH app permission to read your heart rate data from your Health app.)

In order for OOMPH to pull your actual heart rate from your Health app, you will need to allow the OOMPH app to read your heart rate data from your Health app.  In addition, you will need to be wearing a device, such as a smart watch, that will send your heart rate data to the Health app.

 

At the bottom right of your workout screen, the time remaining in your current exercise is displayed as well as the name of the exercise.

 

At the bottom of your workout screen, the diamonds represent the number of exercises within the current round and the blue diamonds represent the number of workouts completed or in progress.

 

Ending a Workout Early

An occasion may arise when you need to end a workout early.  Simply tap on the workout screen and tap ‘END WORKOUT’.  Once you confirm, the system will display your workout stats within the Activity tab.  If you’ve completed a minimum of 5 rounds of the workout, you will notice a check mark displayed on the workout display and the workout will be recorded within the Progress tab.  To resume a workout, tap on the workout within the Workouts tab and select either ‘Resume’ or ‘Start Over’.

 

Completing a Workout

Once you complete a workout, you will be prompted to tap either Cooldown (will start a 5-minute cooldown circuit) or Finish to finish your workout.  If you have completed less than 15 rounds, you will also be prompted with the option to Keep Going, which will allow you to continue working out where you left off.  You can continue going until the end of the 15’th round or, at any time, tap the screen and select end workout.

 

 

Finishing a Workout

OOMPH will invite you to take an OOMPH SELFIE and share your hard work with your friends.  

The system will prompt you to allow OOMPH access to your camera to take the photo.  

 

  Tap the lighting bolt to turn on or off the camera flash.

 

   Tap the camera timer to switch between no timer or either a 5 second or 10 second countdown timer for your picture.  Tap the camera shutter when you're ready for the countdown to start.

 

  Tap the camera flip icon to switch the camera view to a selfie mode.  Tap it again to switch back.

 

  Tap the camera shutter to take the picture.  

 

 

Sharing Your OOMPH Selfie

To share your Oomph Selfie, select one or more of the sharing options described below:

 

Tap on the OOMPH fist icon if you would like to either include or exclude your workout stats from your picture.  

 

  Tap the upload icon to upload your photo to specific applications, such as Instagram.

 

  Tap the chat icon to share your photo via chat.

 

  Tap the download icon to save the image to your device’s Photos app on your device.
